Kinsun Announces Development Plan for Waterproof Two-Piece 90° Male FAKRA SMB Connector

Kinsun announced its plan to initiate the development of a waterproof two-piece 90° male FAKRA PCB-mount SMB connector in Q1 2026, targeting high-frequency signal transmission applications such as industrial cameras and in-vehicle imaging systems, and providing a reliable connectivity solution for outdoor and harsh environments.
The FAKRA connector is designed to provide system-level IP68 waterproof and dustproof protection, ensuring stable and reliable performance under demanding conditions. It features a two-piece assembly structure, in which the plastic housing and the 90-degree metal SMB body are assembled separately, offering high flexibility during assembly. The connector will support multiple FAKRA coding options and comply with ISO 20860-1 to meet various signal transmission requirements. It is specified for an operating temperature range of –40 °C to +105 °C.
As advanced automotive electronics and imaging systems increasingly require robust performance in harsh environments, the demand for waterproof high-frequency RF connectors continues to grow.
